TXT Notes ("we", "our", or "the App") is a text document utility application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.

            Key Privacy Principle: This App is designed as a local-first file utility. We do not require registration, and all text files, notes, and directory structures are stored locally on your device in user-accessible storage.
        

1. Information Collection and Use

a. Text Files and Folder Data

All notes, text files (.txt), and directory structures you create, edit, rename, move, or delete are stored strictly on your local device storage within the root folder you choose (such as your Downloads folder or another user-selected directory). We do not collect, view, copy, or store your text documents on any external servers.

b. Storage and File Access Permissions

The App requires user-granted permission to access your device's storage management. This is necessary solely to allow you to choose a root folder, create/rename/delete subdirectories, copy or move files between folders, and import existing files from other directories on your device. The App only operates within the specific directories explicitly authorized by you.

c. Device Security and Local Authentication

The App supports device-based security features (such as PIN, Pattern, or Biometric authentication) to secure access to your notes. This feature utilizes your device's native secure operating system. We do not collect, access, or store your biometric data, pattern, or PIN code.

2. Data Import, Export, and Sharing

The App allows you to import text files from other directories and share or export your files to third-party applications (such as WhatsApp, Google Drive, or any other sharing destination supported by your device). Any data import or sharing actions are initiated completely by you (the user), and the file transmission is managed directly by your device's system sharing utility.

3. Third-Party Services and Advertisements

To provide certain core functionalities and monetize the App, we use the following third-party services which may collect information used to identify you in accordance with their own privacy policies:

Google Play Services: Used for core app functionalities and checking for the latest app versions.
AdMob (Google): The App displays banner advertisements. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers or cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.

4. Internet Permissions

The App requires internet access solely for the following purposes:

To check for the latest version of the App.
To load and display banner advertisements via AdMob.
To facilitate user-initiated file sharing or exporting to external cloud services or messaging apps.

5. Children's Privacy

This App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information to a third-party service within our app, please contact the respective service provider or us.
